The Environmental Humanities Initiative

UMN

The Environmental Humanities Initiative (EHI) is creating a presence for the environmental humanities by catalyzing research, fostering innovation, and enhancing outreach to approach environmental issues across the globe. CLA faculty and graduate students are distinguished for using a transnational orientation to promote issues spanning a range of humanistic fields.

We hope to expand our graduate cohort and develop an interdisciplinary graduate concentration for study in environmental humanities that addresses the human and cultural dimensions of global environmental change in the 21st century. Finally, we are organizing an interdisciplinary conference in this area in Fall 2018.
